Here we are again. Four weeks, nearly 450 shows and 18(!) memorable Kaia Gerber runway sightings later, the Spring 2019 season has come to a close. Needless to say, it was a lot to take in, but once again we’ve managed to distill a month of incredible fashion down to its 15 most important trends.
Unsurprisingly, many Resort 2019 trends (stripes, trenches, monochromatic dressing) held strong. Surprisingly, not one but two golf course staples (long tailored shorts and polos) got designers’ nod of approval. And it goes without saying that fanny packs are an absolute must-have for spring.

Sheer Overlays
“A lack of transparency results in distrust and a deep sense of insecurity." So says the Dalai Lama and the Spring 2019 runways. Whether transparency equates to near-nudity depends on you, and what you layer under your sheer dresses, suits, trenches, etc.

Head-To-Toe Denim
An early-aughts Britney and Justin would be pleased to note that Canadian tuxedos are now the height of fashion (and have been for many seasons). Per the Spring 2019 runways, all-over denim looks are going nowhere. Dark, tailored takes are particularly de rigeur. (Don't listen to Stella McCartney — avoid neon acid wash at all costs.)

Welcome to the age of glamleisure. Rather than dressing like you're straight-up going to the gym, opt for a high-low mix of dressy and sporty. Pair anoraks with ladylike skirts, bungee cord-accented pants with glittery camis...you get the idea.

Standout Stripes
An extension of the Resort 2018 trend, designers from New York to Paris filled their Spring 2018 lineups with bold (oftentimes vertical) bands in dynamic colors. Stripes elongate the leg, draw the eye upward and make for graphic, head-turning looks. What's not to love?
